Announcements

  • Book Redesign
The book will undergo a redesign to make it flow better (when the semester is over).
The current Chapter One will be moved to the front matter as an introduction. The rest of the book will be divided into three parts: "Up through Linear Regression", "Maximum Likelihood Modeling", and "Special Topics". Thus far, we have only covered Part II (and some of Part I). From this point forward, we will be in Part III.

  • Chapter Seven: Nominal and Ordinal Regression
The Nominal and Ordinal model chapter is now drafted and looking not too bad, although it has some majorly poor spots (in terms of writing).

  • Chapter Eight: Count models
The Count model chapter is now drafted and looking not too bad.

  • Chapter Six: Logit Regression
The Logit chapter is now drafted and incomplete.

  • Chapter Five: Transformation of dependent variables
Chapter Five is now complete (for a draft). I decided to add an introductory example. Expect Chapter Six to cover the rest of the important transformations as well as an example of a customized transformation. After Chapter Six, I think I may head toward Generalized Linear Functions. We will see.

  • Chapters Four and Five
Chapter Four is updated and finished (for a draft). Chapter Five is uploaded and is incomplete. I do not know if I will add something other than proportions or if I will just give another example. I think that this book has been light on examples, so I will write another example tonight and add it (and then see if it 'works' for me).

  • Chapter Four: Linear Regression
Chapter Four is (partially) written. It is missing the end-of-chapter materials. Chapters One and Two are updated to reflect several comments and suggestions.
